About us

HBIGS was founded in 2007 with the mission to attract excellent PhD candidates from all over the world to pursue research in all areas of molecular life sciences. 180+ principal investigators and 340 PhD students make HBIGS one of the main graduate programs of Heidelberg University.

Our Offers

The PhD training and mentoring concept of HBIGS aims to help graduates acquire technical and transferable skills to succeed in their PhD project and to compete in the international job market in academia or industry. The HBIGS career service provides individual coaching for the next career step after the PhD.

Your Application

Qualified PhD candidates are invited to submit their applications prior to the start of their PhD project throughout the whole year, exclusively through the HBIGS online application system. Please carefully read the instructions before you register for application.
